Sustainability is our core business: our products serve the environment. They protect the environment from harmful influences (Trisoplast®, Trisoliner® and Trisolock®) or ensure that the harmful effects of (methane) landfill gas does not lead to further global warming (Multriwell®). Our products are also suitable in reducing the negative effects of climate change, such as extreme drought and heavy rainfall with peak runoff.
Trisoplast consists of 99.8% natural materials and 0.2% environmentally friendly and non-toxic polymers. In terms of environmental quality, Trisoplast is a freely applicable building material and is fully reusable as soil when reclaimed;
Trisoplast is highly resilient with an expected lifespan of over 100 years. In combination with its environmental qualities, this makes it a circular product. Its design focuses on long-term use, and after its use, it is highly reusable (no downcycling);
Many available liners contain plastic or synthetic materials to some extent. Trisoplast prevents geosynthetics from ending up in the ground;
Due to its high sealing properties and, consequently, the thin application layer of Trisoplast, substantially fewer natural resources are needed in comparison to other natural materials. This results in less transportation, shorter installation times, and reduced use of resources. This in turn leads to significant lower CO2 emissions during the installation.
Together with our clients, we continuously explore opportunities to further reduce our environmental impact. Examples include:
Where possible, we use secondary building materials instead of sand for processing Trisoplast. This includes materials from the reuse industry or materials available on site. This helps avoid the use of (primary) sand and reduces transportation costs;
Our mixing equipment, among others, is electrically powered (zero emission), which reduces CO2 emissions.
The innovative landfill gas extraction system optimizes the capture of landfill gas, extracting it faster, more effectively, and with higher yields than traditional systems. This way environmentally harmful methane gas is captured and can be converted the into renewable energy.
The Multriwell system has the potential to accelerate waste degradation, leading to a quicker chemical stabilization of the landfill and significant reduction of the risk for pollution.
Multriwell significantly reduces odors and substantially decreases fire hazards. This creates a safer working environment and better living conditions in the immediate vicinity.
