Tritech offers solutions to problems of the future. Our innovation is aimed to anticipate on tomorrow’s challenges. In our own laboratory, we explore possible innovations and product optimizations on a small scale. If proven viable, we swiftly scale up to pilots and practical applications,. This allows an innovation to be applied on a project scale rapidly. We often collaborate with  (inter)nationally renowned and independent research institutes and universities. This provides a sound basis for our practical approach and leaves room for improvement based on scientific knowledge.

Key Innovations

Examples of our key innovations are Trisoplast and Multriwell. Trisoliner (Trisoplast in a convenient mat form for underwater use) is a good example of refining an existing product.

Trisoplast

Trisoplast was originally developed for the landfill industry, used in top covers and bottom liners. Over time, various new innovative applications have been developed in collaboration with our clients.

Examples of such innovative applications:

  • Liquid-tight or liquid-retaining, continuous soil protection

Trisoplast forms a continuous layer that easily connects to piping infrastructures and adjacent structures that are often seen in the  (petro)chemical industry.. Trisoplast allows for much more effective, simple, quick and sustainable connections than any alternative materials. Moreover, Trisoplast is highly resistant to various chemical products, including oil-based products.

  • Complex liners in civil structures and infrastructure

Trisoplast is easy to apply in connections between concrete, steel or wooden constructions. The plasticity of Trisoplast make water-tight connection possible, even in the event of differential settlements or movements in adjacent structures. Trisoplast has often been used in closing connections in viaducts, retaining walls, tunnels and many other types of infrastructural constructions..

  • Liquid-tight industrial floors

On industrial sites with heavy traffic, asphalt with a SAMI layer is often used to create liquid-tight floors. However, this type of floor is sensitive for damage due to direct contact with heavy traffic (cranes, loaders, etc.). The liquid-tight Trisoplast layer is installed underneath a common surface pavement (e.g. regular asphalt, concrete, pavers, or secondary construction materials). This construction is more cost-effective in terms of maintenance, technical lifetime and monitoring & control.

Multriwell

Multriwell is an innovative landfill gas extraction that recovers landfill gas at a higher rate  than traditional systems  and eliminates harmful emissions. Following the urgent challenges to fight climate change and global warming, the Multriwell system is a very relevant technology for a quick reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from landfills worldwide.

Not only does Multriwell prevent harmful emissions, it also has the potential to accelerate the chemical stabilization of the landfilled waste, reducing the risk of future emissions to groundwater and atmosphere. Additionally, the system eliminates other typical landfill nuisances, such like smell issues in the vicinity of landfills and the risk for fires and explosions.

Trisopellets

Tritech Solutions is continuously innovating.. An recent example is Trisopellets®: a pelletized form of our existing product Trisoplast. With Trisopellets, we work on various potential solutions, such like:

  • Underwater liners

Dredging projects in rivers and canals have recently led to leaks in the bottoms of these waterways.  This leads to unacceptable seepage of surface water into the subsoil,  and groundwater issues in surrounding areas. Furthermore, this loss of surface water is critical, especially in dry periods. Another potential problem is the migration of contaminated water into the subsoil.

With Trisoplast it was already possible to create impermeable water bottoms, although this had to be constructed in dry circumstances. With our new innovation, named Trisopellets, it is now possible to construct a impermeable layer of Trisoplast, directly from the water surface, provideing a cheaper and more effective solution than traditional techniques.

  • Vertical Trisoplast layers as anti-piping solution

When it is necessary to direct (ground)water in a specific direction, or to stop its flow to prevent piping effects near dams and dikes, often sheet piling is used. A vertical Trisoplast screen is a more cost-effective and sustainable option in these cases. Installing a vertical layer with Trisopellets directly into the subsoil is quick and highly effective.

Participate in a practical pilot project?

Trisopellets is a Tritech innovation currently in the scale-up phase. This means that its functionality has been proven in the laboratory, and small-scale practical tests have been conducted. We are now looking for clients who are willing to take this innovation to the next level by participating in a full scale pilot project. Interested in participating? Contact us!
