As much as 400,000 m2 of surface area. You can do a lot with that. A lot. Not surprisingly, a lot of plans were already made for the future use of this former landfill site. In 2016, the last part was covered with Trisoplast, so it could actually being used for new purposes.
Mountain bike races, national cyclocross championships, running events as well as the construction of luxury villas. It may be clear: the Vlagheide in Schijndel is particularly popular with various groups. It is therefore of the utmost importance that the former landfill is - and remains - optimally covered, so that residents, dog walkers and sport enthusiasts are completely safe. This requires a rock-solid seal. But one that is flexible and chemically resistant enough to be applied to different substrates. From moulded sand and bottom ashes to steel slag and picture tube glass; the site was full of them. A challenge we took on with confidence and completed with flying colours. The site now has a positive function for its surroundings. Arend van de Pol, works project manager: "Who would have dared to dream that 10 years ago: building luxury villas right next to the former landfill site as a popular location. We helped make it happen. We are quite proud of that!"
